Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Collective Health Society practices whole-person, health-focused dentistry — and that philosophy extends to everyone who visits this website. We are committed to making our site usable by the widest possible audience, including people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, need enlarged text, or experience color-vision differences, low vision, motor limitations, or cognitive differences.

Accessibility is not a one-time project for us. It is an ongoing responsibility: we audit the site, fix what we find, and re-audit as content changes, so that everyone can learn about biological dentistry and functional wellness and reach our office without barriers.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative. These guidelines cover the widely accepted requirements for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, and they encompass all of the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA success criteria as well.

Our Most Recent Audit

August 19, 2026 — a full accessibility audit of every page of this website was performed against WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria, on both desktop and mobile layouts, using automated testing (axe-core) combined with manual keyboard-navigation and page-structure review.

The audit covered all 67 pages of the site at two screen sizes, plus hands-on testing of keyboard menu operation, form error handling, small-screen reflow at 320 pixels, increased text spacing, 200% zoom, and touch-target sizing.

Every Level A and AA issue identified has been remediated. As of the audit date, automated testing reports zero outstanding WCAG A/AA violations across the site.

August 23, 2026 — a follow-up automated check flagged one set of touch targets (the tab links in our doctor-biography section) as slightly under the minimum recommended size on mobile. They were enlarged the same day, and the fix was verified with a re-scan.

What We Have Done

Measures in place on this website include:

  • Keyboard access throughout. Every menu, link, button, form, and interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, including the drop-down navigation menus and the mobile menu.
  • A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass repeated navigation.
  • Visible focus indicators so keyboard users can always see where they are on the page, and a layout that keeps the focused element from being hidden behind the sticky header.
  • Screen-reader support: pages use proper landmarks (navigation, main content), a logical heading structure, and menu controls that announce their expanded or collapsed state.
  • Color contrast that meets WCAG AA for text, links, and buttons — including on mobile text sizes.
  • Links that don’t rely on color alone. Links within text are underlined so they remain identifiable regardless of color perception.
  • Text alternatives for images, including descriptive labels for image links such as our logo.
  • Accessible names on icon controls, such as the mobile menu button and our social-media links.
  • Labeled, accessible forms for contacting our office — required fields are identified to assistive technology, and if something is missed, the error is announced to screen readers and focus moves to the field that needs attention.
  • Links that open a new tab say so to assistive technology, including our social-media links.
  • Touch targets sized for real fingers — interactive controls meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size.
  • Small-screen and zoom support: pages reflow without sideways scrolling down to 320-pixel-wide screens, and the layout tolerates enlarged text spacing and 200% browser zoom without clipping content.
  • Responsive design that reflows for mobile devices and supports browser zoom.
  • The site’s language is declared so screen readers use correct pronunciation.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, a few areas depend on third parties and may not fully meet the standards we hold ourselves to:

  • Embedded third-party content — video players, online booking, our chat assistant, and social-media widgets are built by their providers, and their internal accessibility is outside our direct control. Where possible we provide the same information or task in accessible text, and you can always call or email us instead.
  • Links to external websites — we link to educational resources we don’t operate and can’t remediate.
  • Video captions — some of our educational videos rely on their platform’s automatic captions; we are reviewing them for accuracy.

If any of these affect your ability to get information you need, please contact us and we will gladly provide it in another form.

Compatibility

This website is designed to work with current versions of common browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and with assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech-recognition software, on both desktop and mobile devices.

Ongoing Effort

Accessibility is part of how we maintain this site, not an afterthought. New pages and content changes are checked against the same standards, and we periodically re-run full audits. This statement will be updated with the date of each new audit.

Feedback — We Want to Hear From You

If you experience any difficulty using this website, or if you have suggestions that would make it work better for you, please tell us. Reports from real visitors are the most valuable accessibility testing there is. We will make every reasonable effort to fix issues promptly and, in the meantime, to get you the information or appointment you need another way.
