The MELISA (Memory Lymphocyte Immunostimulation Assay) test is a scientifically proven blood test used to detect type IV hypersensitivity (delayed allergy) to metals like mercury, titanium, nickel, and gold.
Genetic Susceptibility Testing

The Testing
Process
Consultation & Kit Collection
During your initial consultation, we discuss your health history. If testing is recommended, we provide you with a specialized kit to have your blood drawn at a local lab.
Laboratory Analysis
Your serum sample is sent to a specialized immunological laboratory where it is exposed to various dental antigens to measure your immune system's specific antibody response.
Report Review
Once we receive the detailed report (usually within 2 weeks), Dr. Katie Lee reviews the findings with you, identifying exactly which materials are "Safe" (green light) and which must be avoided.
Safe Treatment Planning
We update your patient file with your safe materials list. Moving forward, every filling, crown, or cement used in your care will be cross-referenced against your personal compatibility report.
