Why Metal Sensitivity Matters

Titanium Sensitivity

Cobalt & Chromium

Aluminum
Found in some cements and porcelain formulations, aluminum reactivity can contribute to neurological issues. We verify that all cements used are safe for your specific physiology.
Zirconia (Control)
While extremely rare, we can also test for reactivity to Zirconia to ensure that this metal-free alternative is indeed the perfect, inert solution for your dental implants or crowns.
Cadmium & Lead
Often present as trace contaminants in older dental materials or environmental exposures. Testing helps distinguish between dental sources and other environmental factors.

Process
Consultation & Kit Request
We discuss your symptoms (fatigue, rashes, implant issues) to determine which metals to test. We then provide you with a specialized MELISA test kit.
Blood Draw
You will take the kit to a local phlebotomy lab for a simple blood draw. The sample must be shipped promptly to the specialized immunology laboratory for analysis.
Laboratory Culturing
In the lab, your white blood cells are isolated and exposed to various metals. If the cells grow and multiply (transform), it indicates a positive allergic reaction.
Results & Treatment Path
We review your detailed report. If reactivity is found, we plan your dental care using only "safe" materials, or plan the safe removal of the offending metals.
