DentAirVac Air Filtration
An external high-volume air filtration system (DentAirVac) is positioned near your mouth to pull air away from you and our staff, filtering out mercury vapor through activated charcoal.
"Chunk" Removal Technique
Instead of grinding the filling away (which vaporizes the mercury), we section the amalgam into large chunks and remove them in pieces. This significantly minimizes the release of mercury vapor.
Activated Charcoal Rinse
Before and after the procedure, you will rinse with an activated charcoal solution. Charcoal naturally binds to toxins, helping to catch any trace particles in the mouth.
Protective Gowns & Coverings
Both you and our dental team are covered with protective drapes and gowns. This prevents mercury particles from settling on your clothing, skin, or hair during the appointment.
