Biological cosmetic dentistry near Denver CO — woman laughing with a natural, healthy smile

Biological
Cosmetic Dentistry

You want a smile you are glad to show. You also want to know what is going into your mouth, and what it means for the rest of you. Those two wishes are not in tension. At Collective Health Society in Centennial, CO, cosmetic dentistry starts with the same questions as everything else we do: is the material one your body accepts, does the bite work, and will the result still be healthy years from now. Dr. F. Jay Ohmes leads this work, bringing more than three decades of advanced aesthetic and laser dentistry to the Denver Metro area.

What Makes It Biological

Most cosmetic dentistry asks one question: how will it look? We ask that one too, and then a few more. Biological cosmetic dentistry is not a specialty; it is a way of making every decision with your whole body in mind.

  • Materials your body accepts: metal-free ceramics and zirconia, with biocompatibility testing available if you react to things easily.
  • Conservative preparation: laser and minimal-prep techniques that keep as much of your natural tooth as possible.
  • Function before form: your bite, jaw joints, and airway are evaluated before a smile is designed, so the result is comfortable to live with, not only to look at.
  • A healthy foundation: gums and underlying teeth are treated first, with ozone and laser therapy where they help, so new restorations go onto healthy tissue.

The result is a smile that looks natural because it is built the way nature built the original.

The Dr. Ohmes
Difference

LVI-Trained Aesthetics

The Las Vegas Institute teaches dentists to design a smile around the whole face: lip line, facial proportion, and jaw position, not teeth in isolation. Dr. Ohmes completed its fellowship, the institute's highest level of training.

Fotona Laser Precision

Dr. Ohmes has used dental lasers since 2004 and trains other dentists on Fotona systems. In cosmetic work that means gentler gum contouring, cleaner preparations, less bleeding, and faster healing.

Biological Principles

Every material and technique is chosen with the rest of you in mind: metal-free restorations, ozone-treated surfaces before bonding, and a bite that supports comfortable breathing and sleep as well as a beautiful smile.

Before & After

The clearest way to judge cosmetic work is to look at it. These are Dr. Ohmes's own patients, photographed before and after treatment in his practice.

What Dr. Ohmes Treats

Cosmetic and advanced restorative cases, each planned around biocompatibility and how your mouth actually functions.

Porcelain Veneers

Ultra-thin ceramic shells that reshape and brighten front teeth with little or no removal of enamel. Read about our biological approach to veneers.

Metal-Free Crowns & Onlays

Zirconia and lithium-disilicate restorations that rebuild cracked, worn, or heavily filled teeth without metal, matched to the teeth around them.

Smile Makeovers & Full-Mouth Rehabilitation

A coordinated plan that may combine veneers, crowns, whitening, and gum contouring, starting from the bite and jaw joints rather than from the front teeth alone.

Neuromuscular Bite Correction

Finding the jaw position where the muscles are relaxed before restoring the teeth, so a new smile does not come with headaches, clenching, or worn edges.

Laser Gum Contouring

Reshaping an uneven or "gummy" smile line with the Fotona laser, with minimal bleeding and quick recovery. Often the finishing step for veneers or crowns.

Implant Restorations

Crowns and bridges on metal-free ceramic implants, shaped and shaded so the restored tooth reads as one of your own.

Laser-Assisted Surgery

Advanced surgical cases, including gum surgery and site preparation, performed with laser precision for cleaner margins and gentler healing.

KöR Whitening

Deep, lasting professional whitening that pairs well with new restorations, since ceramic is shaded to match the teeth around it.

Clear Aligners

Straightening first often means less tooth reduction later. Aligner therapy can put teeth where veneers or crowns need the least preparation.

Your Smile

Plan

1

Consultation & Photography

You tell us what you would like to change. Dr. Ohmes takes photographs and a 3D scan, and looks at your bite, gums, and airway, not only the teeth you are asking about.

2

Materials & Function Review

Restorative materials are chosen for your body, with biocompatibility testing if you want it, and the jaw position is settled before anything is designed.

3

Design & Preview

You see the proposed result digitally first. For larger cases you wear a trial version for a few weeks and tell us what you would change.

4

Treatment

Conservative preparation, laser-assisted where it helps, with ozone on the tooth surface before bonding. Final ceramics are tried in and adjusted before they are cemented.

5

Follow-Up & Care

We check the bite, the gum tissue, and how everything feels in daily life. Biological hygiene visits keep the result healthy for the long run.
