FDA approved home sleep apnea testing at biological dental practice serving Denver metro area

FDA Approved
Home Sleep Testing

Home Sleep Testing (HST) is a convenient, FDA-approved diagnostic method that allows you to monitor your breathing, oxygen levels, and heart rate in the comfort of your own bed. At Collective Health Society in Centennial, CO, we utilize these clinical-grade devices as the first step in diagnosing airway disorders. Serving the entire Denver Metro area, we provide a seamless path from testing to physician diagnosis and biological treatment.

Accurate & Accessible

95%

Correlation with in-lab sleep studies for diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea.

100%

Review and diagnosis by a Board-Certified Sleep Physician.

2

Nights of data typically recorded to ensure accuracy.

The Diagnostic Missing Link

Millions of people suffer from fatigue, anxiety, and metabolic issues without realizing the root cause is poor oxygenation at night. In the past, getting diagnosed meant spending a night in a hospital lab hooked up to dozens of wires.

As biological airway specialists, we believe testing should be accessible and reflective of your “real life” sleep. FDA-approved home testing allows us to identify:

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
  • Central Sleep Apnea
  • Chronic Snoring
  • Oxygen Desaturation events
  • Fragmented Sleep Patterns

We serve patients from across Denver, empowering you with the data needed to reclaim your health.

Benefits of
Home Testing

Comfort & Convenience

Sleep in your own bed, with your own pillow, following your normal routine. There are no uncomfortable electrodes glued to your head, just a simple finger probe and chest sensor.

Cost-Effective

Home sleep testing is a fraction of the cost of an in-lab study (polysomnography) and is widely accepted by medical insurance carriers for the diagnosis of sleep apnea.

Faster Diagnosis

Skip the long wait times for a sleep lab appointment. We can provide you with a testing kit immediately, allowing you to get your results and start treatment weeks sooner.

Advanced Technology

We utilize state-of-the-art recording devices (like WatchPAT® or similar FDA-cleared systems) that capture critical biological data.

Peripheral Arterial Tone (PAT)

This advanced sensor measures changes in arterial volume in your finger, which is a direct indicator of your autonomic nervous system's response to sleep disturbances.

Oximetry (Oxygen Levels)

Continuous monitoring of your blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) tells us exactly how much oxygen your brain and organs are receiving—or being deprived of—throughout the night.

Heart Rate Analysis

We track your heart rate variability (HRV) and pulse rate. Spikes in heart rate during sleep often correlate with apnea events and cardiovascular stress.

Actigraphy (Body Position)

The device detects whether you are sleeping on your back, side, or stomach. This helps us determine if your airway obstruction is positional, which influences treatment options.

Snoring Detection

Built-in microphones allow us to quantify the volume and frequency of snoring, distinguishing between simple snoring and the gasping/choking sounds of apnea.

Respiratory Effort

Sensors detect the physical effort your chest is making to breathe. This helps distinguish between Obstructive Sleep Apnea (blockage) and Central Sleep Apnea (brain signal issues).

REM & Deep Sleep Staging

Unlike basic trackers, medical-grade HSTs can differentiate between Light, Deep, and REM sleep cycles, showing us if your sleep architecture is fragmented.

Wireless Data Upload

Modern devices upload your sleep data securely to the cloud via a smartphone app or internal modem, allowing for rapid interpretation by our sleep physician partners.

The Testing

Process

1

Airway Screening

We start with a consultation to discuss your symptoms (snoring, fatigue) and perform a physical exam of your jaw and throat to assess risk.

2

Take the Kit Home

We provide you with the compact testing device and simple instructions. You wear it for one or two nights in your own bed.

3

Physician Diagnosis

The data is analyzed by a board-certified sleep physician, who provides a formal diagnosis (mild, moderate, or severe OSA) and a prescription.

4

Treatment Review

We review the results with you. If Oral Appliance Therapy is indicated, we can begin the process of fabricating your custom device immediately.
